Our Story
There is a ton of sporting goods, and sports enthusiasts have a vast choice of equipment. How do you create something different? Something people need, something they’ve never seen before… How do you come up with an idea that sets you apart from the rest?
Life Sports Gear is built on observation, research and creation.
Several years of working in sports equipment distribution in Canada enabled our founder to identify the gaps in other brands’ offerings. What was missing in the market? What niche would our new brand fill?
This led to a desire to design innovative, quality products that could be used by everyone, without having to break the bank to buy them.
2014: the birth of Life Sports Gear
After reflection, action. Life Sports Gear was born in 2014 with the launch of its very first accessories: a collection of walking and hiking crampons.
Over the years, the offering has grown with new running and hiking items, always designed with the interests of sports and outdoor enthusiasts in mind. Each product is an innovation in quality and design, which will help sportsmen and women in the practice of their activities, such as running, trail running, hiking, trekking or even urban walking.
In creating our products, we want to encourage sports and outdoor adepts to get out of the house to be active, healthy and safe.
Now on several continents
2021 is the year that allowed us to cross the borders of Canada. While continuing to be developed in Greater Montreal, our Life Sports Gear products are now distributed on several continents around the globe.
We are committed to respecting the environment. That’s why we have taken concrete steps to demonstrate this, such as our Green Initiative.
In 2021, we launched the ECO collection, the world’s first brand of running accessories made from 100% recycled polyester from plastic bottles (rPET polyester) and certified GRS (Global Recycled Standard).
Previously, we had also marketed a collection of hiking bags – now all sold out – in which every registered purchase made a donation to the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) for the conservation and protection of species, habitats and ecosystems.
This partnership has now come to an end, but it is part of our values and our journey. Above all, we are continuing to work towards becoming increasingly eco-responsible, notably by rethinking our packaging.
